KAS Supports Adoptees And Their Familiesfor Their Rights And Interests to be protected
· Legal Basis : Article 6, 21.4 and 36 of Special Adoption Act & article 23 and 25 of the Enforcement Rule of the Special Adoption Act
· Purpose : To provide adoptees with their records out of children’s facilities or institutions through permanently preserving adoption-related records.
· As of Dec. 2017, KAS has preserved about 58,000 records from 39 facilities/institutions.
· Digitalized data is added to Adoption Centralized Management System(ACMS) to be employed for adoption information disclosure and consequently for birth parents search.
· If an adoptee desires to check his/her adoption records out of these facilities/institutions below,he or she may petition KAS for Adoption Information Disclosure.
